1. Fire Extinguishers
We supply and maintain Portable fire extinguishers designed to combat different classes of fire, each requiring a specific type of extinguishing agent. Common classes include Class A (ordinary combustibles like wood and paper), Class B (flammable liquids like gasoline and oil), Class C (electrical equipment), and Class K (cooking oils and fats).
2. Fire Alarm Systems
At Mwomo Health, we supply and maintain fire alarm systems - Network of devices working together to detect and alert people about a fire. They may includes sensors, control panels, and sounders that help initiate a prompt response to an emergency. These systems are essential to ensure that even small fires are detected early. Our alarms may be activated automatically from smoke detectors, and heat detectors or may also be activated via manual fire alarm activation devices such as manual call points or pull stations. Alarms can be either motorized bells or wall mountable sounders or horns.
Addressable Systems:
An addressable fire alarm system is an advanced fire detection and notification system where each device, like smoke detectors and manual call points, has a unique digital address. This allows the system to pinpoint the exact location of a fire, unlike conventional systems that only indicate the zone. Conventional Systems:
The philosophy of a conventional system revolves around dividing the building into a number of areas called zones. The detectors and call points within each zone are then wired on a dedicated separate circuit. Also known as a non-addressable system, is a type of fire detection and notification system that divides a building into zones. When a fire alarm is triggered, the control panel indicates the affected zone, but not the specific device. These systems are generally cost-effective and suitable for smaller buildings with simpler layouts
3. Fire Hose Reels
Fire Hose Reels are used for short-range fire-fighting applications inside buildings (generally Class A fires). They are permanently connected to the water supply, reasonably accessible and can be easily operated by first responders or the general public.
They are ideal for large high risk environments such as schools, hotels, factories etc. They are designed to I.S. EN 671 – part 1. Hose reels can come in lengths of 30m of 19mm and 25mm hose. Hose Reels are available in fixed, swinging, recessed and concealed versions with automatic or manual valves. Hose reels are used;
- Fixed Reel has 19mm fixed manual fire hose reel has been a mainstay of fire fighting for decades. it can deliver continuous water easily and reliably at up to 12 metres. A jet spray nozzle is included and options include manual or automatic, fixed or swinging, 19mm or 25mm.
- Swing Reel on the other hand is a high quality certified Swinging Fire Hose Heel supplied with a wall-mounted bracket, hose guide, durable nozzle and 30 metres hose.
4. Fire Suppression Systems
At Mwomo Health, we supply and maintain Fire suppression systems that are engineered solutions designed to automatically detect, control, and extinguish fires, minimizing damage and protecting lives. They utilize various extinguishing agents, like water, foam, or chemical compounds, and integrate with fire detection systems for early response. 5. Fire Sprinklers
Fire sprinklers are an active fire protection measure, designed to automatically detect and suppress fires, primarily using water. They are a crucial component of many buildings' fire safety systems and are highly effective at controlling and extinguishing fires, reducing both property damage and loss of life.
When fire sprinkler system heads detect heat usually at a pre-set 68 degree they activate. Fire sprinkler systems are ideal for everyday applications and to reduce property damage caused by a fire. Sprinkler systems are mostly water or foam based fire protection systems that work with a fire pumpset or other equipment in the case of fire.
- Wet Pipe Systems; In this system the sprinkler piping is constantly filled with water. When the temperature at the ceiling gets hot enough the glass bulb or fusible link in a sprinkler will break. Since the system is already filled with water, water is free to flow out of that sprinkler head.
- Dry Pipe Systems; The pipe is not constantly filled with water. Instead, the water is held behind a dry pipe valve usually some distance away from where the sprinklers are located. Like a wet pipe system, when the temperature at the ceiling becomes hot enough, the glass bulb or fusible link of the sprinkler breaks.
- Deluge Sprinkler; Sprinkler heads always open, pipes fill with water when activated. Used in areas of high hazard such as aircraft hangars and chemical storage facilities
